Welcome to our vibrant preschool, where Greek language and culture come alive!

Immerse your little ones in the wonders of Greece as we incorporate its rich heritage into our curriculum. Through innovative techniques, such as theater and fine arts, we aim to enhance the learning experience and foster a love for Greek language and culture in our students. Our Greek-Immersion classrooms consist of teachers who are native speakers of Greek. In our authentic Greek-Immersion education program, we provide children the maximum exposure to Greek.

Children receive lessons in both Greek and English throughout their daily routine. Through language, books, hands-on materials, using songs, games, finger plays, stories, and short activities to build on vocabulary and exposure to the language

Enrichment lessons include:

• Greetings • Expressions of courtesy • Commands • Colors • Numbers • Fruit • Animals • Parts of the body • Feelings • Family • Days of the week and months of the year • Holidays • Weather • Music and culture

Dual Language Classrooms offers students an array of materials, so that they may receive lessons in both English and Greek throughout the day. At least one staff member in the class is a native Greek speaker, able to converse with the children throughout the day in Greek.

The lessons include vocabulary, grammar, and conversation within a curriculum that also provides a sense of Greek history and culture.

Lessons are designed to be used repetitively throughout the school year to teach and reinforce fundamental concepts of vocabulary and build a base of knowledge that prepares the children for more advanced instruction.

Greek lessons are offered spontaneously in the mornings to all children and students have dedicated time for Greek lessons.

Cultural knowledge exercises include:

• Listening and responding through vocabulary • Creative expression through songs and stories • Learning about geography • Exploring a variety of food and beverages including • Following simple directions • Oral and hands-on practice with general vocabulary: greetings, numbers (1-30), colors, feelings, articles of clothing, body parts, animals, etc.

By the end of the three-year cycle, students are expected to: • Being able to identify some basic facts from words and phrases when they are supported by gestures or visuals in conversations and text • Request and provide information by asking and answering a few simple questions on very familiar and everyday topics, using a mixture of practiced or memorized words, phrases, and simple sentences • Express basic needs related to familiar and everyday activities, using a mixture of practiced or memorized words, phrases, and questions.
